Word
So finding the Kolor boards and watching the video the other week has brought in tons and tons of questions about Kolor and Kreme. So we are working making a Kolor/Kreme documentary. Probably keeping it short or maybe not? I want to know what all of you want to see and hear about. I have a good generic idea of what I want to do. I think we can interview most of the team and people behind the company and cover most of the basic questions. If there is anything that you guys want to see specifically leave a comment for sure. I really want to involve all the viewers in this. Hit me up @ info@boardboutique.com or AIM @ boardboutique you can also call the shop 217-355-7850 JUST GET ME YOUR IDEAS!

Dude your intro is lame, just skate!
Dude! Alright! I am on my last nerve with skate videos! Dude ok Mind Field was SO SICK! All videos are sick! I love skateboard videos! I really love local, small crew vids! I HATE I HATE I HATE IT when dudes just copy peoples shit! Dude oh my god are you so lost in this world you cant find out whats cool and fun to you?!? Dude like what the hell?! Like did you see how Ty Evans did this. Lets do panning shots now, lets light the spot up. My pants are too baggy, im not fitting this image! Dude do me a favor and smash your over priced camera you dont even know how to set proper settings on! Just go shred! Just skate man. Call up your friends and shred all day then take that camera and get another one and film you smashing the hell out of that one then smash the other one you filmed it with! IF YOU ARE GOING TO GO FILM HAVE SOME FUN! You know what makes a good video?! The tricks? WRONG! The filming? WRONG!!!!!!! The editing for sure then? WRONG!!! AND WRONG!!!!!! Its about the crew and the love of skating. I know its not the answer you want. YOU KNOW WHY? Because that shit is found in your heart and in the streets and on your BOARD! Not in the camera or on the computer! You can’t look up optimal Friend settings on some forum. Its not debatable. If you are out skating and filming for the love and for you and your crew then HELL YA go skate and film and make that video and send it to me!!!! If you are out there faking the funk then just quit skateboarding. If youre out there to get sponsored then quit! If you are doing it for any reason that isnt in your heart then QUIT! Thats it and thats all. You skate because you love it! Done!

Dude this picture is great! Whether you know poor Dougie or not. This picture was titled “ISS Official Gnarliness Measurement System.” I dont know man, that shit just cracked me up. See dudes out skating and having fun with. Being creative and having fun is a HUGE part of skating. If you are not having fun and creating then just quit skating. You are wasting you time! We all know you think you are good and want to get sponsored. The whole time your “trying to get good” you miss the damn point. You skate for you and your homies! That is it! It’s about you and the crew going out and shredding whatever. Stairs, rails, ledges, crubs, man holes, cracks in the road. Whatever man. I know we all have the “PRO” dream. If you are meant to be pro then you will be pro with little or no effort on trying to get sponsord. If you are super sick then someone will see it. Go out and film, but remember to have some fun. We all know what it is like to want a trick super bad and stress and freak out. That in the end can be fun, and if you are pushing yourself then it is super nasty SICK rewarding! So yeah, umm im sure this will come up again. I guess im just trying to say….Have fun first, then go from there. Yeah….

Easy Brah!
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am a 25 year old aging, balding, weight gaining, and jaded skateboard shop owner. Our skateboard shop is located at 702 S. Neil St. in Champaign, IL (right near your Green/Neil location). I literally eat at your establishment every single day. When I walk through the door I am greeted with a smile and nod followed by a Number 4, hashbrowns, medium ice coffee cream and sugar?! A simple thumbs up lets Enrique know I’m down for the usual. I am writing you in regaurds to a possible sponsorship from Dunkin Donuts. I saw Rob Dyrkek (from MTV’s Rob and Big) is now sponsored by Carls Jr. I thought this would be a great opportunity for your company to enter the skateboard industry. With my board shop being in close proximity to your facility this could be a most beneficial opportunity for the both of us. I would be more that willing to carry donut graphic wheels with your logo on them. Or even a deck with a long jon on the bottom. The possiblites are endless. All I would need in exchange is a steady supply of medium ice coffees and hash browns. Im not a greedy man, I would gladly still pay for the sausage, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel. I have already drawn up the frame work for a possible marketing campaign. Please respond as soon as it is convienite for you.
Your loyal customer,
Dustin Stuart

Dear God.
A total mental and physical collapse is now a possibility. Since the new year has come I’ve been working at a ridiulously dangerous pace. There are no brakes on this frieght train fill with barrels of crazy. Slowing down at this point seem futile. I might as well get behind that damn wheel and try to control and steer this rat bastard machine in the right direction. Sometime is there is no going back. There is no 150mph on the freeway slam on the brakes, hank the e-brake and slam the shifter in reverse at the grim chance of missing that wall of blissful pain. No my friend. Not this time. All you can really do is slam the gas petal through the damn floor board and either hope the wall moves or you just blast through it. Stress. Why? If you dont feel it, then you feel like you’re not doing something…Maybe im wrong. I probably am wrong. It has gotten me this far. I watched the Kolor DVD the other night. I realized something slightly incredible. That video was edited and mastered while I was remodeling my basment, setting up the shop and builing the shop, working a full time job, and starting the screen printing biz. I even skated some in all of that. The whole time I was beating the shit out of myself saying “this is not good enough!” Watching the video the other night I finally got to see it through a new set of eyes. It actually is a very good video. All the guys worked so hard as did the filmers and editors. If you havent seen this video you should defiantly check it out. If it’s been awhile then check it out again. I believe the premier for the video was around this time actually. Maybe late Feb? Does anyone remember? If so, please comment. I’ve just been dumb stressed the last couple of days and I can’t seem to shake it. It just lingers. The work list keeps piling up. There are more projects than ever. My goal is to have a lot of this done by 3-15. That is the shop b-day. There is going to be a great deal of new stuff in here by then so be sure to come by and check it out! Skating still is fun though. The moral…sometimes you just gotta go skate. It takes it all away for a little bit. Or you just get super pissed and snap the hell out of your board!

So I was super dead set on taking today from the shop. It is presidents day and the banks are closed and I want to be closed DAMNIT!! Dude I am just so tired.. The AWS premier was sick! Not as many people as the Fallen vid, but it was a really good quality turn out. Everyone was hyped and cheering. It was really interactive and had a community sense to it. I would have liked to see more people, but I understand it was on Valentines Day and all…..No i don’t understand that shit! Dude I’ve been with my girl for like 8 years. Yeah we broke up for a bit, but it wasnt over V-day. That shit is lame as hell. If you need a day to show someone you love them, then you my friend are a kook. You are just another robot being told what to do. First they tell you how to dress and work and school. Now how and when to love someone. Let me guess. You didnt make it cuz you….went to dinner, saw a movie, or went shopping. Yeah, that is lame. Like “oh damn its sunday! Now I belive in god!” Yeah right, you are fake. If you really love someone you show them that shit everyday! If you really love your local skate shop you come support them any chance you get! Heaven knows ol’ girl couldnt wait from 7-8 to go wait in line at an over rated, over crowed resturaunt on a over glorified “holiday.” Im sure you spent plenty of money that day too… Yeah, actually the premier was free! HAH! The man is in your pockets again! So yeah, that aside. Im here at the shop after half a day away. I cant stay away. It just runs my world. So much to do. So much to get ready for. Im sure you really give a shit! To think I actually took the time to write all of this. That my friend is truly the funny part of all of this!

How sick is this!? Who ever would have thought this would happen? I see it from both sides though. Skateboarding is big enough now that things like this will become a norm. That is cool for Rob and other skateboarders in the sense you can now have a very nice living off of skateboarding alone. Then the other side…Normally your first reaction when you see this is WHAT THE F*CK?!? Dear lord is this what is has come to? I used to get my ass kicked for skateboarding and now those same “jocks” or “preps” wanna pay me to be on their food. When you break it down in the end they are just using you anyways. Like yeah you get some cash, but in the end that contract you signed prolly has your ass owned and even though you are big in skate world in their world they just bought and sold your ass again. Just on a more sophisticated level this time. Let this be a lesson to all you “I wanna get sponsored kids.” Im sure we could debate all types of similar issues also. In the end all I can say is…It is what it is….In the end you still can go skate and fulfill skateboarding in your own way. You can go out and step on that board and push north, south, east, or west. That is what it is really all about. So if skateboarding to Rob involves cheese burgers then so be it…. I personally would ride for Dunkin Donuts in a heartbeat!

So it’s Friday! Thank God! TGIF!! WHAT!!! Dude, really Friday? Like it really matters! What are you going to do that is so bad ass that you need the weekend? You are going to sit there and recover from getting your ass kicked! Thats it and thats all. Everyday life beats the piss out of us and sometimes its all we can do to hang in there till that bell (the weekend) rings. Now that life has sucked all your will to live and creativity from your body it will then play its mental game on you. Like when your a kid and you beat the shit outta someone then feel bad and try to be their friend so they wont tell the teacher or mom. This is what it really is. Life kicks your ass then plays buddy for two days. Its ok buddy. Here, use all this hard earned money you made from getting your ass kicked and go waste it on some worthless shit “the man” says you need. “The man” is the instigator of this whole damn thing too! That rat bastard. Today you are going to live your life and get your ass kicked 7 days in a row this week. Since opening this shop I’ve been on the 7 day ass pound schedule. At the end of the day though, you can look bad and know you took a few swings and maybe even landed a few. So I urge you this weekend to go get the shit knocked out of you skateboarding or doing something creative or productive. YES the Alien Workshop premier counts, because if you dont come I will kick your ass!

Today it is raining. As a skateboarder you usually hate rain. Today is a different kind of rain though. Its that whole renewing kind of rain. I shaved my head today and trimmed my beard. I feel renewed. Ready to skate.
